Moto3 Catalonia P3: Collin Veijer is exceptional! Daniel Holgado trapped

This Moto3 P3 in Catalonia should not be overlooked. Indeed, it is essential to prepare for qualifying, but also to put yourself in the best conditions for the race this Sunday. Yesterday, the day started strong for Jaume Masiá (Honda Leopard Racing), fastest man in P1, and of the day. By the afternoon, however, Iván Ortolá (KTM Angeluss MTA Team) had found rhythm again, he who could take on the mantle of the outsider at the end of the season. Unless the surprise comes from the North: Collin Veijer (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP), rookie pole sitter at Spielberg, is in the form of his life in these last two races. Overall, the Hondas are strong in Barcelona; so let's keep an eye out for cyan colored motorcycles.

While we were expecting rain, the weather remained good for this second Catalan day. Those who missed yesterday therefore have a chance to catch up and achieve a time good enough to qualify for Q2.

 

 

Quickly, the Hondas show their fangs. Already yesterday, they showed good speed in Barcelona. Tatsuki suzuki (Honda Leopard Racing), winner in Argentina in the rain, leads the way. With 16 minutes to go, the session is calmer than ever. The times are still far from those of yesterday.

Be careful, however, Ayumu Sasaki (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP), who is forced to get on his feet; the Japanese fell yesterday. Speaking of falls, Deniz Oncu (Red Bull KTM Ajo) also wipes one. He manages to get back on the machine, but has to go through the pit lane.

 

 

The “Husky” driver is joined by his teammate Collin Veijer, definitely in good shape since his Austrian exploit. Times are stabilizing considerably. Be careful, because in the last push, Tatsuki Suzuki comes to bother his teammate Jaume Masia. He is still first in the combined rankings, but we should not regret it.

All the drivers improve with one minute to go. Stefano Nepa (KTM Angeluss MTA Team) is briefly first, but leaves its place to Collin Veijer, with the fastest lap of the weekend. But it's not over, everyone still has one more turn to climb to the top of the timesheet. Due to a yellow flag following the fall ofIvan Ortolá, no one can improve and it is not the business of Daniel Holgado (Red Bull KTM tech3) ! Trapped, he will have to go through Q1.

 

 

Q1 will be eventful! With the presence of David Munoz (KTM Boé Motorsports), Diogo Moreira (KTM MT Helmets MSi) and of course, the championship leader Daniel Holgado. Collin Veijer, he will aim for a second consecutive pole position.
