Niccolò Antonelli is not varnished. A shoulder injury occurred late, at the very end of the off-season, forcing him to undergo an operation. The latter took place and if it went well, it will put him out of action, literally, for no less than two months. At best, the SIC58 team will be able to count on him at the French Grand Prix…

Antonelli is package of one Qatar Grand Prix which opens the season this weekend Moto3. For the future, the Italian will be one of those who will hope that the crisis of Coronavirus will push back the deadlines on the calendar for a season with the problematic organization. Because here he is immobilized for two months.

After the tests of losail, the Squadra Corse SIC58 pilot decided it was best to stop, returning to Italy to have surgery. To replace him this weekend in Qatar the Spaniard Jose Julian Garcia was mobilized.

On the return of number 23 to the track, Marco Grana, team manager clarified the situation on GP One : " Niccolò could return to Le Mans at the earliest. This means he will have to stay still for two months. We are very sorry for him, because we did a good job, but surgery was the best solution. Certainly, the coronavirus case could be an advantage for him, given that he will have more time to recover and get back into shape »

Let us recall that the test of Mans is scheduled for May 14. And Sam Lowes, in Moto2, is out for the rest of the meeting in Losail, also following a shoulder injury contracted after a fall during the off-season.
