Danny Kent slammed the door of the team Kiefer in the middle of the Grand Prix of the Americas, striking with fear and arousing the incomprehension of those around him. But the Briton is lucky that there is a decision-maker in the paddock who likes human challenges. Aki Ajo therefore took back his old foal. It must be said that for Moto3, it really needs it.
Car Aki Ajo is also a pragmatist. Currently, his troops are taking on water in a Moto3 dominated last year with Brad Binder. Antonelli et Bendsneyder are far from the mark while the Austrian RC250GP is more than suffering against the formidable new Hondas.
Then the general mobilization is called and the elders are called back. Efren Vazquez test and Danny Kent will come and give him a blow tomorrow. Or even more if you like because the Englishman, World Champion in the category in 2015 on a Honda Leopard, will be at the French Grand Prix as a guest of choice. And if it goes well, who knows if heads won’t roll among the official drivers…
Danny Kent reconnected with the category by testing the KTM in Jerez, a track shared with the Suzuki team which continued its work. Between Garlic et Kent, this is a story that is not new. The rider arrived in the world at the start of 2011, after having shone in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup. The Briton, who had already participated in six 125cc races during 2010, is competing in his first season with Red Bull Ajo Motorsport and is extending one more year with the same structure, in this category which has become Moto3.
He then won twice, finished fourth overall, then signed with Tech3 Racing in Moto2 for 2013. But the results were not there. The latter therefore returns to his former team in Moto3, a team this time associated with Husqvarna. It is therefore thanks to a new round trip that the two men meet again.
