New to the Leopard team, the Italian driver has a very clear idea of what he would take from Rossi, Marquez and Lorenzo if he could.

Student of the VR46 Riders Academy for several years, Dennis Foggia had joined the Sky Racing Team VR46 from the CEV and won the title in 2017, in addition to having achieved three wildcards in the Moto3 World Championship during which he impressed by managing to get into the points and then into the top 10.

Logically made official in the VR46 team in the World Cup, he had a somewhat complicated first season despite some good results and in particular the first podium of his career in Thailand. He then told us his desire to finish in the final top 10 despite his difficulties when we met him, but he had not managed to achieve his goal.

After a complicated second season, during which he encountered problems both technical in his team and human within the VR46 Riders Academy, he decided to leave this environment to ride alone and won the best handlebars in the field at Leopard, reigning World Champion with Lorenzo Dalla Porta the year last.

If he now wishes to move forward and aim for the top places, he nonetheless remains admiring of his former mentor and has also quoted him in an interview given to GP One. If he could indeed take something from Valentino Rossi, it would be “his mental strength, because he is very strong in this aspect”, did he declare.

If the Doctor still remains a reference for young drivers, he is obviously no longer the only one, and Marc Márquez and Jorge Lorenzo are also closely watched by the new generation. “From Márquez I would take the driving style and what he manages to do in general on the track”, Foggia continued. “And from Lorenzo I would take the ability to know how to complete a lap perfectly and to manage to escape in the race by imposing your own pace. »

The young Italian now only has to apply the techniques of the greatest riders to improve in Moto3 and thus hope to be one of the title contenders this year.
