As since August 2016, Efrén Vázquez will once again be KTM's official test rider for Moto3.
The Basque rider had already held this position during the 2016 and 2017 seasons after having had a brief stint in Moto2 with the team. JPMoto Malaysia early 2016 (Qatar and Argentina), following the last minute change of plan of the Italian structure of Giampiero Sacchi in Moto2, Ioda Racing, which left him on the mat during the off-season.
Since then, the Spanish driver has worked in the shadows for the Austrian manufacturer, alongside various activities including, among other things, a coaching role in the structure. Laglisse which fields three Husqvarna Moto3s in the FIM CEV, two Hondas in the European Talent Cup and two motorcycles in Superstock 600.
He also continues to train young riders at his Efrén Vázquez Moto Academy school located on the Vilariño Motorsport circuit in the Basque country.
Efren Vazquez : “This is a very exciting project because it means that a brand as important as KTM has complete confidence in us. At the end of last year, they called me to formalize a more exclusive relationship and thus be their spearhead in the development of their Moto3 for 2018. Finally I can announce to you that in 2018, I am returning to this large KTM factory with the objective of returning to make a Moto3 world champion motorcycle, as we already did in 2016! I can’t wait to get back on the bike again…”
