It was during the warm up of the Moto3 category of the Spanish Grand Prix in Jerez that an incident could have had serious consequences for Joel Kelso, the Australian rider of Alain Bronec's CIP-Green Power team.

In the straight line, Riccardo rossi, the teammate of Lorenzo Fellon within the Honda structure, SIC58 Squadra Corse, made a sudden change of direction which sent Ivan Ortola (Team MTA) on the ground in the middle of a pack of pilots. In itself, the situation was already dangerous but things did not stop there.

Indeed, unlike Ivan Ortola, his KTM did not fall and hit the unfortunate man Joel Kelso which took its turn at the end of the straight line.

Completely taken by surprise, the Australian remained on the ground for a few moments but fortunately did not suffer any serious injury.

Less than two hours later, he started the race just like Ivan Ortolaas Riccardo rossi was penalized with a Long Lap by the Race Direction.
Joel Kelso unfortunately had to stop after three laps, suffering from multiple pains. He will undergo additional examinations tomorrow in Barcelona.

This reminds us that zero-risk racing does not exist and we congratulate the speed of the Andalusian track marshals!
