Junior Moto3 world champion in 2019 after three seasons spent in FIM CEV, Jeremy Alcoba is this year completing his first full season in the World Championship under the colors of the Gresini Racing team.

Although a world rookie, the young Spaniard born in 2001, who began his journey with the Italian structure in 2019 as a replacement driver for Gabriel Rodrigo then injured at Spielberg and Silverstone, is doing more than well since he is currently 12th in the general classification, with 30 points and a seventh place as best result (obtained on three separate occasions).

This is why Fausto Gresini has decided to extend by at least one year the contract which links him with the man who is already a candidate for the title of “Rookie of the Year” 2020.

Fausto Gresini : " I have to admit that Jeremy is a talented and very methodical driver on the one hand, and a very nice guy on the other, which doesn't go without saying. The results obtained so far in 2020, in a category as difficult and competitive as that of the quarter liter, confirm the choice we made to invest in it, and the extension of the contract for 2021 was only one pure formality. I am absolutely convinced that Jeremy's potential is enormous, and I hope he can be an integral part of our sporting plans for a long time. »

Jeremy Alcove : " I am absolutely delighted that a team like Gresini Racing has chosen to bet on me for next year as well. I have to admit that it's somewhat "liberating" because I can now ride with less pressure, at least from that point of view. It is obvious that this first year is a learning experience: we are working well and things are going in the right direction, but in 2021 we will try to raise the bar a little, even if this shortened season does not help us prepare for the next.  »
