Fausto Gresini's team has decided to replace one of its young drivers next year.

This season, the Gresini team is playing in Moto3 with the experienced rider Gabriel Rodrigo, who could not show his full potential due to several injuries, as well as with the young Riccardo rossi. If the latter started this year in the World Championship, his team has chosen not to renew it next year.

Rossi out, so it's Jeremy Alcoba who will make his entrance. The Spaniard currently leads CEV Moto3, having finished fourth for the last two years. Author of three wild cards in the World Cup last year where he did not manage to enter the points, he progressed this year and finished 14th in the British Grand Prix, which finally convinced Fausto Gresini, which allowed him to be a guest pilot.

“Jeremy is a very interesting driver, very young, but with already significant experience in the Spanish Championship”, did he declare. “I have to say that he has impressed me a lot this season, whether in Austria or at Silverstone because of his dedication and his ability to keep a cool head, and I really believe in his possibilities. Arriving on two tracks that you don't know and immediately racing in competitive times, in addition to scoring points during one of the races, is not given to everyone. He will ride alongside Rodrigo and I am convinced that he can already do good things in his first season. »

“Above all, I would like to thank those who made my dream possible, namely Gresini and Monlau”, for his part commented Alcoba. “My idea is to learn as much as possible from my team and my teammate, Rodrigo, who will surely be one of the drivers to beat and a title contender. I hope to progress with regularity Grand Prix after Grand Prix. The pre-season will obviously be very important to know the bike as well as possible, but if I have to make a list of my objectives, without a doubt there is the fact of having few falls, of being regular and of entering more often possible in the points, trying to aim for the top 10.”
