Moto3 India P3

The discovery of the new circuit in India continues for the Moto3 riders, and this involves a P3 which promises to be decisive, as is often the case. Yesterday, we experienced the first laps of the world championship in this magnificent country, and it resulted, initially, in a fairly clear domination of Jaume Masiá (Honda Leopard Racing). The latter continues his good momentum, two second places in the last two rounds. However, during P2, Collin Veijer (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP) set a better time, falling, for the first time, below 2'00. Others are dangerous, like Stefano Nepa (KTM Angeluss MTA Team), but some must show themselves now: starting with Daniel Holgado (Red Bull KTM Tech3), championship leader but nowhere yesterday. David Alonso (Gaviota GasGas Aspar Team) must also react; the two-time winning rookie fell several times.

So, even if you already know the outcome of this session, come relive it with us! Before we begin, here is a table which summarizes the facts known so far:

The sky is cloudy in India this morning, and the air seems heavy, as if there is a filter on the camera. Another special feature of this Indian Grand Prix. But the drivers are good on the track, that's all that matters. It's still 30°C in the air, with high humidity.

And the least we can say is that they don't waste time: Jaume Masia immediately sets a very small 2'00 which places him in first position in this P3. Jose Antonio Rueda (Red Bull KTM Ajo) is in the mix. Moreover, the latter is already in 1'59.567 on his second attempt, a thousandth slower than the track record set by Collin Veijer yesterday. That said, his time is canceled due to the yellow flags because two falls have already been noted; Philip Farioli Firstly (Red Bull KTM Tech3), And Ayumu Sasaki the other (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP). His motorcycle catches fire for no reason! As incredible as it may seem, he manages to leave.

All eyes are of course on Daniel Holgado, who did not qualify for Q2 yesterday after the first two sessions. Two new falls punctuate this rather eventful session; those of Ryusei Yamanaka (Gaviota GasGas Aspar Team) and Jose Antonio Rueda. Colin Veijer, the rookie in sight for India, took his place with a 1'59.663. Jaume Masia follows closely.

Ouch! What's happening ? Deniz Oncu (Red Bull KTM Garlic) initially fails to extend but makes a save. Then, when he wanted to enter the pit lane, he went highside at a ridiculous speed! The worst part is that the Turk seems to have injured his left wrist!

And now it's Daniel Holgado who is on the ground! Another highside that sends it from the Indian skies! For the moment, he has qualified directly for Q2 but his place is far from assured. It's getting crazier and crazier. Deniz Öncü received a black flag and had to return to the pits immediately, probably because the race management thought he was too injured to continue.

Daniel Holgado, in the pits, is trapped again! He will have to go through Q1. Tatsuki suzuki (Honda Leopard Racing) falls in turn. All the drivers follow each other, wait for each other, it's very tense. But in the last moments, it's Diogo Moreira (KTM MT Helmets MSi) who takes the lead on the line in 1'59.375, the new record! It is followed by Collin Veijer et Ayumu Sasaki. Q1 promises to be very busy, with, in addition to Daniel Holgado, Deniz Oncu et Stefano Nepa (KTM Angeluss MTA Team). What a crazy session.
