Moto3 Indonesia P2

Arriving for P2 of the 15th of 20 stages at the Mandalika circuit, on the island of Lombok in Indonesia, the world championship Moto3 presents us with a very tight setup, with only nine points separating the three main contenders for the world title, Jaume Masia (Honda Leopard Racing), Ayumu Sasaki (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP) and Daniel Holgado (Red Bull KTM Tech3) who lost command in Japan.

With 75 points to be distributed over the next three consecutive weekends alone, everything remains extremely open, including to a lesser extent for the Colombian rookie David Alonso (Gaviota GasGas Aspar Team), the now seasoned  Deniz Öncü (Red Bull KTM Ajo), the Spanish Iván Ortolá (KTM Angeluss MTA Team), the valiant Brazilian Diogo Moreira (MT Helmets – MSI) and the rest of the 15 pilots mathematically still titratable.

Among the changes in the list of participants, we will especially note the definitive replacement of Tatsuki Suzuki for the benefit of Adrian fernandez within Leopard Racing, now and in anticipation of next season, while David Almansa (Rivacold Snipers Team) and Noah Dettwiler (CIP-Green Power) continue to replace respectively Roman Fenati et david savior always injured.
Finally, the local Arbi Aditama participates as a wildcard under the Honda Team Asia colors.

When it comes to the weather, a thorny subject in Mandalika last year, if we seem to be avoiding the terrible rain we'll experience in 2022, we're not completely safe from a nice little downpour this afternoon...

This morning, Diogo Moreira stood out during the first session, but it is far from over. Here is the table which summarizes the facts known so far:

From the start, Jaume Masia takes command of this second Moto3 session. David Munoz is also very strong, but the pilot Leopard Racing is in the shape of his life.

Daniel Holgado is currently well placed, and confirms its good form from Motegi. Watch out for the fall for his teammate at Tech3 Philip Farioli. Then, it's Deniz Oncu who takes the lead in the ranking. We now learn that Stefano Nepa (KTM Angeluss MTA Team) just received a long lap for pushing too hard under yellow flags earlier today.

Imbroglio on the archipelago. Three pilots are on the ground; and only big names. David Alonso on the one hand, Diogo Moreira on the other, and finally, Colin Veijer. However, despite the lack of replays, all of them appear to have fallen independently.

At the end of the session, it's the Turk Deniz Öncü who takes the best of his opponents at the end of a relatively uneventful session.
