Moto3 Italy race

The Moto3 race is now over in Italy! Maximo Quiles won in style, strengthening his position in the championship. There were plenty of favorites before the start, as is always the case in the smallest of classes. However, it was fairly easy to identify the favorites. Of course, José Antonio Rueda (Red Bull KTM Ajo) was among them, given his sensational victories in 2025. In fact, he set the fastest time in FP1. David Munoz (KTM Liqui Moly Intact GP), winner at Aragon, and the leaders of the other sessions were also not to be overlooked: David Almansa (Honda Leopard Racing) had speed, as did Scott Ogden (KTM CIP Green Power), who was first in FP2. As for pole position, it was taken by an Ajo rider… but not Rueda! His rookie teammate Alvaro Carpe won his first ever Tissot watch yesterday afternoon. The other brilliant rookie Maximo Quiles (KTM CFMoto Aspar Team) was not to be overlooked.

Even if you already know the outcome of this race, come and relive it with us! Before we begin this retrospective, here is a table that summarizes the facts you need to know:

The weather is perfect, the track is clear... Let's go for a breathtaking test!

Excellent start from the poleman Alvaro Carpe, which maintains the advantage acquired in qualifying. Jose Antonio Rueda rises to second place, followed by David Almansa. Everything is very compact, the leading group is made up of the majority of the grid.

Everything changes at the inlet of the immense straight line: David Almansa takes the opportunity to take the lead. Three falls are to be reported: Vicente Perez (Honda GRYD – MLav Racing), Riccardo Rossi (Honda Snipers Team) and Ruched Moodley (KTM Denssi – Boé) are no longer in the race.

The first major racing incident was not long in coming: David Almansa has just fallen, he who had been very strong since the start of the weekend. Alvaro Carpe inherits the head, but Maximo Quiles is second. It is impossible to note all the overtaking in the leading group as the gaps are so small. Twelve drivers are within a second of each other!

The race is just magnificent, the battle, lively! Wheel is now in the lead, but he too is struggling to widen the gap. Luca Lunetta (Honda Sic58 Squadra Corsica) is also very fast. It's a bit of a push and pull... be careful not to overdo it!

Of course, a racing incident is never far away! The rookie Guido Pini (KTM Liqui Moly Intact GP) attacks his teammate very strongly David Munoz in turn 1, and the latter touches and causes him to fall Luca Lunetta et Adrian Fernandez (Honda Leopard Racing).

The situation is very strange a few laps from the end, since Wheel, Munoz and other favorites are quite far behind. In front, Dennis Foggia (KTM CFMoto Aspar Team), the revenant, vice-world champion 2021.

What an incredible image! Touched by Joel Kelso (Honda Levelup MTA) Guido Pini crashes at the exit of the last chicane, at full speed. He wanders in the middle of the track, lying down, but is not hit by a competitor! Some have to brake to avoid him, which changes the hierarchy. Wheel is more than a second behind. Let's hope everyone finishes this race without injury, because it's very close in the peloton.

Maximo Quiles shows its teeth five turns from the end. But Carp et Valentin Perrone (Red Bull KTM Tech3) don't give up. Then it's Foggia's turn! A crazy race.

Anything is still possible as we enter the final round. Foggia starts in the lead. But in the final moments, Maximo Quiles makes the difference and wins his very first world race! What a finish! Alvaro Carpe is second on the line, just ahead Dennis Foggia who did not disgrace themselves. Only six thousandths separate Quiles de Carp on arrival, and Foggia, third, is only sixty thousandths away. Wheel is fourth, while David munoz completes the top 5.
