Moto3 Italy FP

A week after Catalonia, it's off again for the Moto3 world championship, and it picks up straight away with the FP in Italy. A lot has happened since then, even if the same man continues to rule the roost in the smallest of categories. David Alonso (CFMoto Aspar Team) won again at Montmelo, which constitutes his fourth success this season after Qatar, the United States and France. Still as dominant as ever, he was unable to take pole but is today leader of the championship. Behind, it's more complicated. Daniel Holgado (Red Bull GasGas Tech3), winner in Portugal, is not ready to give up the fight, while Ivan Ortola (KTM MT Helmets MSi) and Collin Veijer (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP), also winner in Jerez, try to prevent the domination of the Colombian. Who will emerge triumphant from this clash at Mugello? Answer Sunday!

Even if you already know the outcome of this session, come relive it with us! Before we begin, here is a table which summarizes the known facts:

The weather is nice in Tuscany, even if there are a few spots of humidity dotting the track! Let's go for a session that promises to be interesting in all respects!

As a reminder, this session does not count for the rest of the weekend. She is simply there to try, to test the waters. Jose Antonio Rueda (Red Bull KTM Ajo), well recovered from a nasty attack of appendicitis, is the first to shine but his time is still slow compared to last year's marks. Without a doubt, it will run much faster. Noah Dettwiler (KTM CIP Green Power), is already plagued by mechanical problems.

And then, as usual finally, David Alonso takes up residence. He is the only one to go down to 1'56 for the moment. Once again, the rookie Luca Lunetta (Honda Sic58 Squadra Corsica) is getting closer to the leading group. On an ultimately inferior machine, he shows good signs of progress. Ryusei Yamanaka (KTM MT Helmets MSi), more discreet, is also there.

David Alonso starting to get annoyed! He achieves a 1'55.902, the new lap record! His closest pursuer, Ryusei Yamanaka, is more than a second away! What a performance, and another session dominated by the Colombian. Especially since he achieved this time alone, without any help! It's stunning. Jose Antonio Rueda is third, Daniel Holgado, fourth at 1”321.
