We always have great pleasure reading the texts of Paolo Simoncelli. Here is our translation of the one concerning the French Grand Prix.

This weekend has exactly the same flavor as Brno 2007, a disastrous, discouraging, unhappy weekend. Marco had crashed during the warm up and Taro Sekiguchi had completely destroyed his bike, also breaking a few bones. Marco reproduced this result also in the race. When it’s Sunday afternoon, these kinds of weekends make you say: “Go, go, go!” Let's go home ! »

I could say a lot about this Grand Prix, but I already feel my heart getting nervous, so I'll tell you just the three reasons why I want to remember it.

For the kindness of Mattia Casadei. To tell the truth, I would have killed him when, on Saturday, as he was about to conquer the first row of the superpole, he crashed and with him all our dreams of winning the MotoE world championship. But on the screen, I could see him standing, demoralized and heartbroken, walking towards his motorcycle to give it one last hug before returning to the box.

For Tatsuki Suzuki's wish to still believe, who fell in the race after making the fastest lap, he got up angry and in pain, punching the air. I don't know why, but this gesture makes me understand how much this kid believes in what he's doing, that apart from the twelve stitches in his arms, the plate and a bone that's slowly coming together, he's always there, taking risks and never giving up.

For the sportsmanship of Romano Fenati, who, after being hit by his teammate Alonso López during the race, instead of getting angry, just hugged him.

In the end, sporting gestures are those that will be remembered over time and are those that make a pilot a great pilot. And about this French weekend, so difficult for my team as for my coronary patients, that's all.
