The number 50 used by the late Jason Dupasquier will be permanently retired from the Moto3™ category, in tribute to the late Swiss rider who died during the Italian Grand Prix at Mugello.

The withdrawal ceremony will take place on Friday at 17:30 p.m. in the Sachsenring press conference room, in front of his CarXpert Pruestel GP team.

Note that this tribute paid by removing a race number does not only concern deceased drivers, since this is the case for #48 (Shoya Tomizawa, 2010) and #39 (louis salom, 2016) in Moto2, as well as the #74 (Daijiro Kato, 2003), #58 (Marco Simoncelli, 2011) and #69 (Nicky Hayden, 2006), numbers 34 and 65 are also no longer available while, fortunately, Kevin schwantz et Loris Capirossi are still in this world.

As we can see in our opening photo, a black and white poster is already posted at the bottom of the famous control tower of the German circuit.
