Lorenzo Fellon

Lorenzo Fellon returned to competition during the last British Grand Prix at Silverstone after an operation on his shoulder which put him out of the circuit at the start of this season at Portimao. The Frenchman's career in Moto3 has been complicated since his debut on the international scene and it is not with the raw result of this ninth round of the year's calendar that we are going to get enthusiastic about Fabio Quartararo's compatriot and Johann Zarco. But if we look more closely, we see that a little more success would be enough to put it on the right track. What Alain Bronec's team will tackle between now and the end of hostilities next November.

Lorenzo Fellon has been a pilot since this year Moto3 of the CIP-GREEN POWER team whose boss is Alain Bronec and he shares the box with a david savior which was, to say the least, favorably noticed during the return of the summer break from the Grand Prix paddock at Silverstone. Starting from 21st place, he fought his way back to sixth position to obtain his best Grand Prix result. And his French teammate? Although he started from the same modest area on the starting grid, he unfortunately did not cross the finish line in the wake of his neighbor in the pits.

Lorenzo Fellon returned during this British Grand Prix on his KTM after many months of absence. The Frenchman qualified 25th, but during the race he showed that he had the pace of the leaders. True, he only finished 22nd, but also received a three-second penalty for exceeding the track limits on the final lap. Finally 24th, he is now impatiently awaiting the next Grand Prix in Austria.

Lorenzo Fellon: “ in the rain, a fourth place proved that we were fast, that we had returned to a very good level »

« It was the first weekend after the operation " remember Lorenzo Fellon when taking stock of his journey at Silverstone. “ There were ups and downs. I had a pretty good rhythm the first day. In the rain, a fourth place proved that we were fast, that we had returned to a very good level. Unfortunately, my mistake in Q1 affected the start of the race a little and despite a good start, I saw that I could follow the group in front ».

« Unfortunately, when I tried to pass a rider who seemed slower and didn't have the pace to stay with the group, I made a mistake and we started fighting. This is where the group left » he adds before concluding: “ I'm a little disappointed with the result because it doesn't show the work we've done and the progress we've made all weekend. We have a lot to work on, but we don't give up, we maintain the momentum and we will come back to Austria stronger than ever ».

On his case, Alain Bronec clarified: “ Lorenzo Fellon made his season debut after his injury at Portimão, and he did very well. He improved his lap time in dry conditions, and after a crash in the rain he recovered very well. Lorenzo finished 24th, which was a very good performance for what was his first race of the season ».
