Third in the Championship, Dennis Foggia qualified in pole position for the fourth time in his GP career, all achieved this season with France, Catalonia and Thailand. He will aim for victory for the fifth time this year after the GPs of Indonesia, Great Britain, San Marino and Thailand. He scored no points during his two visits to Sepang in Moto3.

Only louis salom (2013) Joan Mir (2017) et George Martin (2018) won from pole in Moto3 at Sepang. The 3 Moto2022 World Champion, Izan Guevara, qualified in second position, which is the ninth time since the start of the year that he has qualified in the top three. He will look to win in back-to-back races for the third time this year, with Catalunya/Germany and Aragon/Japan.

Second in the Championship, Sergio Garcia, who scored his first Moto3 podium at Sepang in 2019, qualified in third position, which is the fifth time since the start of the year that he has qualified in the top three with Argentina, the Spain, Japan and Australia. In three of them he finished on the podium, including a victory in Argentina. GASGAS could clinch the Moto3 constructors' world championship title for the first time in GP if the best GASGAS rider does not concede more than 16 points to the best rider Honda.

James Masia, who finished third at Sepang in Moto3 in 2019, qualified in fourth position, which is the seventh time since the start of the year that he has qualified in the top 6. He will aim for victory for the first time since France earlier this year.

The rookie Daniel Holgado qualified in fifth position, which is the eighth time since the start of the year that he has qualified in the top six. He will try to get on the podium for the second time, like in Aragon where he was third.

Fourth in the championship, Ayumu Sasaki qualified in seventh position, which is the eighth time this year that he has failed to qualify in the top six. He will try to win for the first time since Austria at the start of the year.
