The Italian driver has had an excellent start to the season with the Prüstel GP team. Current leader of the championship, he revealed himself from the Argentine Grand Prix, and has not left the front since, which makes him very happy.

Marco Bezzecchi talked with speedweek, and confided to the German site his current state of mind, his relationship with his team but also with his mentor Valentino Rossi.

After a year on Mahindra, the Italian moved to KTM this year at the same time as he arrived at the Prüstel GP team. Even if the Hondas seem a little more advanced this season, he seems very satisfied with his machine: “I have a very good feeling with the KTM. With this machine racing is fun. My team also works very well and all the work is now paying off. The KTM is very strong under braking, but it's difficult to ride generally as fast as the Honda riders. We can brake harder, but have to pick up more speed in the middle of the curve. When I'm in the lead I can take my lines, but if I'm a Honda rider I have some problems. This still remains limited. »

Concerning his team, Bezzecchi is unanimous: “The team is incredible, I feel very comfortable there. I get along well with all the team members. It's not just Germans, many countries are represented there. The atmosphere is very good, I like working with them. We are like a family so the pressure remains low. »

Given his excellent results, many teams are starting to show interest in him, particularly to move up to the intermediate category. However, the Prüstel GP driver is clear on this subject: “I want to get into Moto2 with a title, that’s my main goal. It will probably be difficult to do it this year, but as long as I can try to win, I will. I want to win as many races as possible. That makes me happy. »

Obviously, as a member of the VR46 Riders Academy, he is supported by Valentino Rossi himself, and the latter often comes to give him advice: “We talked a lot about my strategy to try to win more races. For example, he explained to me how I could have prevented Di Giannantonio from passing me at Le Mans. He taught me a lot. Now I have more experience, but I still have to improve every day. »
