The riders of the Moto3 category took to the track with rain tires during the first free practice session at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli which opened the hostilities of the sixteenth stage of the 2021 World Championship. the wet one was Andrea Migno, who took the Team Snipers Honda to the top with a time of 1'52.529, a time which allowed him to beat his teammate Alberto Surra by 0,278 seconds.

Third beat for Filip Salac (KTM Pruestel GP) and fourth for Mario Aji, rookie on the Team Asia Honda. Izan Guevara, winner in Austin, brought Team Aspar's GasGas to fifth position, ahead of Andi Farid Izdihar (Honda Team Asia) and Kaito Toba (KTM CIP). The Top Ten was closed by Stefano Nepa (KTM BOE), Lorenzo Fellon (Honda SIC58 Squadra Corse) and Niccolo Antonelli (KTM Avintia). The two title contenders, Pedro Acosta, championship leader with a 30-point lead, and Dennis Foggia are in 15th and 17th position respectively.

What will this second and last free practice session of this Friday have in store for us? Before answering this question, here is the table which summarizes the facts known so far.

Surrah takes control in 1.56.469s. The latter, very comfortable in the wet, further improved his time to 1.55.047s. Behind, Aji, and Salac complete this provisional top 3.

Aji, Indonesian guest driver, took the lead by setting the best lap time in 1.54.604s. Sasaki, Binder, Antonelli, Surra complete this top5

The leader of the world championship, Acosta is 11th. His dolphin, Foggia is ranked 21st. Neither have qualified for Q2 yet.

14 minutes from the goal, Antonelli takes the lead of the troops in 1.54.164s. Tuff, in turn, took the best time in 1.54.085s. Rossi, Antonelli, Salac, Aji, Sasaki, Binder, Surra, Migno and Suzuki come to close this provisional top10.

Surrah recovers the best lap time in 1.53.876s.

There are 8 minutes left in this session which gradually sees portions of the route drying out little by little. The top5 is as follows: Surra, Toba, Antonelli, Rossi and Acosta.

Acosta, 4 minutes from the finish, takes the lead by setting a lap time of 1.53.109s. He would enter Q2, in total sessions, he is currently 3rd behind Migno and Surra.

Acosta visibly experienced at this semi-drying track, further improves his time in 1.52.536s. Foggia is 22th.

The 14 drivers who would enter Q2 before the Q3 session tomorrow are: Acosta, Salac, Kunii, Nepa, Holdgado, Sasaski, Surra, Izdihar, Fellon, Toba, Guevara and Aji.

End of session and it's Acosta who was the fastest in 1.52.536s ahead Surra and Sasaki.
