Moto3 Misano P2

Less than a week after this fantastic Catalan explanation, and we are back for the P2 Moto3 in Misano. We parted with this sensational victory for Colombian rookie David Alonso (Gaviota GasGas Aspar Team), in a race which saw championship leader Daniel Holgado (Red Bull KTM Tech3) fall. The latter is only 13 points ahead of his runner-up, the Japanese Ayumu Sasaki (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP), fourth in Montmelo. The race was also marked by the maneuver of Deniz Öncü (Red Bull KTM Ajo) in the last corner, pushing David Muñoz (KTM Boé Motorsports) off the track. This earned him a six-second penalty, and benefited rookie José Antonio Rueda (Red Bull KTM Ajo), on the podium for the first time in his young career. Jaume Masiá (Honda Leopard Racing), third overall, moved into second position.

This morning, a little duel Jaume Masia/Ayumu Sasaki to the advantage of the Spaniard was offered to us in P1as Tatsuki Suzuki (Honda Leopard Racing) took third place.

In short, this San Marino Grand Prix in Misano still has many surprises in store! So relive this P2 with us ; before we begin, here is a table which recalls the known facts:

Here we go for this second session! Immediately, Jaume Masia, already the fastest man this morning, is in front again. For several Grands Prix, we feel he is very comfortable; but two consecutive retirements in Great Britain (fall from the head) and in Austria (mechanical breakage) compromised his title chances.

Jose Antonio Rueda, after his first world podium, is once again ranked among the elite. Note the return of another rookie, Collin Veijer (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP). The Dutchman, surprise pole-sitter at the Red Bull Ring, was extremely dangerous in Catalonia before getting injured in Q2. He hadn't been able to hit the trail, but here he is back.

Very discreet this morning, Daniel Holgado ranks second at the moment. Disappointing in Barcelona, then unhappy in the race, he absolutely must widen the gap this weekend to leave for quiet Asia. Kaito Toba (Honda Sic58c Squadra Corsica) and Roman Fenati (Honda Snipers Team) also briefly entered the top 5.

Watch out for the fall to Tastuki Suzuki (Honda Leopard Racing) ! In a very good turn, there he is on the ground. The highside is absolutely impressive, but it gets up on its own. This is the first fall of the weekend in the smallest category.

While Jaume Masiá also almost falls, Deniz Öncü takes the opportunity to steal the best time of the session. In 1'42.540, he is still slower than the Spaniard was this morning. It's getting carried away. David Alonso improves, like many others, including Ivan Ortolá (KTM Angeluss MTA Team). Then, Ayumu Sasaki takes the best time of the meeting so far, but Daniel Holgado is only 19th for the moment, synonymous with a passage to Q1!

Finally, Jaume Masia restores order in the penultimate flying lap. He is ahead Ayumu Sasaki for this P2 in Misano, while Deniz Oncu completes the top 3. Daniel Holgado knows all the difficulties in the world to stay in the Q2 group! He crossed the line in 9th place, then slipped to 12th position afterwards! He will have to be careful tomorrow if he wants to maintain his chances of going directly into the race for pole.
