Moto3 Misano P3

It's time. It's time to move on to this second day of motorcycle Grands Prix, so decisive, but also so exciting. And it starts right away with the P3 Moto3 in Misano. Essential to qualify directly for Q2, it allows you to get a first idea of the hierarchy. Unless we already know the favorite: yesterday, Jaume Masiá (Honda Leopard Racing) was the best driver in the first two practice sessions, a fairly rare occurrence since the start of the season. All the usual competitors were there, from Deniz Öncü (Red Bull KTM Ajo) to Iván Ortolá (KTM Angeluss MTA Team) including the rookie David Alonso (Gaviota GasGas Aspar Team), winner of the last race to date in Catalonia . All, except one: Daniel Holgado (Red Bull KTM Tech3), championship leader, largely absent from this debate for the moment. Timid 12th yesterday, he will have to do better in order to contain his direct opponents, starting with his runner-up Ayumu Sasaki (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP).

Even if you know the outcome of this session, come and relive it with us! Before we begin, here is a table which summarizes what we know about Moto3 at Misano:

This decisive P3 begins, like yesterday, with a very good lap of Jaume Masia, definitely on fire this weekend. Jose Antonio Rueda (Red Bull KTM Ajo) follows suit, as well as Deniz Öncü. At the same time, David Munoz (KTM Boé Motorsports) is experiencing a technical problem with his machine. Daniel Holgado fails to improve, and is even pushed out of the top 12 by Diogo Moreira (KTM MT Helmets MSi) ! He must react.

While the world championship leader is busy running away, Jaume Masia completes the first lap in 1'41 of the weekend! It seems that no one is able to stop him in this round.

Daniel Holgado finally manages to achieve a decent time, but it is not yet at the level of the very best.

Watch out for the huge tower of Diogo Moreira ! the Brazilian steals first position Jaume Masia. Then, a few seconds later, it's Ivan Ortolá who wins the bet! But at the end of everyone's quick turn, Masia sets the record straight with a monstrous 1'41.655, two tenths faster than his opponents. Be careful with Deniz Oncu also, now the fastest, while Daniel Holgado is no longer in Q2! He will have one turn to try to achieve this.

When crossing the line, Deniz Oncu remains in the lead by less than a tenth. Jaume Masia follows him like his shadow, but David Alonso, on fire in recent weeks, should not be neglected. On the other hand, it is catastrophic for Daniel Holgado! He is forced to move into Q1 against David Munoz, Riccardo Rossi (Honda Sic58 Squadra Corse) and other serious customers. His last two similar weekends did not go in the best way.
