Moto3 Misano Qualifying

At the end of a session that promised to be explosive, it was ultimately Jaume Masiá who set the best time, synonymous with pole position. The weekend was initially little contested before the Moto3 qualifying in Misano, since the same Jaume Masiá (Honda Leopard Racing) had frankly dominated the day on Friday, coming off a good second place in Barcelona. Only, during P3, this morning, Deniz Öncü (Red Bull KTM Ajo) stole his preferential position; neither could be ruled out for the race for pole. On the other hand, the big disappointment was none other than the leader of the world championship Daniel Holgado (Red Bull KTM Tech3), forced to go through Q1 while his closest pursuer in the championship Ayumu Sasaki (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP) showed himself more serious than ever.

Even if the title of this article has you spoiled the result, come relive this session with us! Just before, here is a table which summarizes the facts known so far :

Let's go. The drivers set off for this Q1 which will determine, in part, the quality of their weekend. Daniel Holgado known ; he must pass.

David Munoz (KTM Boé Motorsports), another favorite for accession to Q2, falls immediately after the start of the session! This is the first major turnaround of this day: the pole sitter from Assen is no longer in the race. During this time, Daniel Holgado does not place first in the provisional. In this session, also pay attention to the drivers CFMoto Racing Prüstel GP Xavi Artigas et Joel Kelso

The first run of Q1 ends with a Daniel Holgado confident. It is followed by Matteo Bertelle (Honda Snipers Team), Riccardo rossi (Honda Sic58 Squadra Corsica) and Xavi Artgias. Now, time for the second run, with optimal tire temperature, and drivers with long teeth.

Unbelievable ! David Munoz, who we thought was eliminated by his heavy fall, is already back in business! His bike probably had no damage, damn luck. Although his KTM has a few bits of tape here and there. Daniel Holgado confirms his first place with a monstrous lap, which places him six tenths ahead of everyone.

In the last lap, tempers are agitated. Daniel Holgado is first qualified, unsurprisingly, ahead of Riccardo rossi, Joel Kelso and ... David Munoz, who holds his place in Q2 on the finish line of the final loop! Bravo to him. The first injured party is none other than Matthew Bertelli

Now, it's time for the race for pole, which we hope will be as exciting as that of MotoGP. And from the first minute, it’s already chaos! Ayumu Sasaki, serial poleman this season, loses his bike on the exit lap! The Intact GP engineers are getting annoyed, and that's right; their pilot plays the title. Fortunately, he can return to his stand and will surely benefit from another try.

Pay attention to Jaume Masia, already the fastest man ahead David Munoz. Be careful, however, Diogo Moreira (KTM MT Helmets MSi), stealthily first on the first run of this Q2. We are not yet in 1'41, so nothing is decided. Ayumu Sasaki, alone on the track because of a shifted strategy due to his fall, ranked eighth for his first timed lap.

Since the drivers follow each other, the times come in bursts, so it is unpredictable who will finish first. But as the end of the session approaches, it's Kaito Toba (Honda Sic58 Squadra Corsica) who rises to the top! He has never yet achieved a single pole in a motorcycle Grand Prix. Ayumu Sasaki responds after an epic fourth sector, but the inevitable Jaume Masia demonstrated unrivaled mastery in the final round. Nearly three tenths from his closest pursuer Ayumu Sasaki, it radiates the cyan color once again. Kaito Toba, third, does not deserve it. Daniel Holgado will start from eighth position; watch out for him tomorrow.
