Moto3 Misano Race

David Alonso (GasGas Aspar Team) was the best in the Misano Moto3 race, taking an important and quite spectacular victory here. Even if before the start, Jaume Masiá (Honda Leopard Racing) had largely dominated on Friday as well as qualifications, we could expect a battle because there are plenty of them in the smallest of categories. Daniel Holgado (Red Bull KTM Tech3), first of all, passed through Q1 after a difficult start, had to defend his leading position in the championship, constantly threatened by Ayumu Sasaki (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP). Without forgetting the hard-hitting Deniz Öncü (Red Bull KTM Ajo). As usual, Iván Ortolá (KTM Angeluss MTA Team) was also able to surprise. In short, this foreshadowed a great spectacle on a track which favors overtaking.

Come relive this Moto3 race with us! But first, here is a table which summarizes the known facts:

As for three days, the sun is out. The track is hot, there is grip. A very great spectacle in perspective.

Let's go ! As soon as the lights go out, Ayumu Sasaki jumps up and gets the best start, but Jaume Masia don't give up. As soon as he gets the chance, he already tries to open up a gap. Daniel Holgado flew away well, but Deniz Öncü, on the contrary, is stuck. The leading Spaniard already has a half-second lead. Be careful with Diogo Moreira (KTM MT Helmets MSi), finally in leg, who manages to come second in the hunt for Masia.

It's hot for Deniz Oncu on David Alonso, who knows that he must not let his opponents go ahead. Behind, Ivan Ortolá is in difficulty; the double winner in 2023 completely misses. Jaume Masia is on another rhythm; he takes advantage of the fight behind him to gain more than a second lead! Amazing. The hunt is led by Deniz Oncu, but they will be difficult to hang up the Leopard driver.

The Turk and the Brazilian exchange second position, but both get back on the leader! Will the escape reach the end? Nothing is less sure. A few places further, the rookie Collin Veijer (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP) passes in force on Daniel Holgado, what commitment! In any case, the advance of Jaume Masia melts like snow in the sun! Only half a second left. In less time than it takes to write it, Öncü came back, just like Diogo Moreira. The two dropped the other pursuers.

Warning ! Deniz Oncu fails to impale the leader! It is much faster, but cannot find the opening on the cyan Honda. The battle continues, but this allows all the other pilots behind to catch up, notably David Munoz (KTM Boé Motorsports). But Jaume Masia hold on!

In the breaks, Deniz Oncu finally decides to pass. David Muñoz et David Alonso benefit from it. Daniel Holgado, he is not having a great day. Whatever happens, it looks like he will lose valuable points before heading overseas. A group of four pilots stood out quite well: Deniz Oncu, on your mind, Jaume Masiá, David Muñoz et David Alonso. With seven laps to go, anything is still possible.

Remember that in Barcelona, Deniz Oncu had been penalized six seconds for pushing… David Munoz in the last turn. This promises explosive final loops. However, this time, the Turk seems to be the most comfortable within this group. holgado, he will undoubtedly slip out of the points regularly!

At the start of the last round, the advantage is still for Deniz Oncu. But in the last meters, he makes a mistake which allows David Alonso to win for the second time in a row! Jaume Masia narrowly missed the victory, and finished second. Daniel Holgado, the overall leader, is 16th! Terrible disappointment for him.
