Those who follow our reports from the FIM CEV Junior Moto3 World Championship will not be surprised to learn that Pedro Acosta, the current leader of the Red Bull Rookies Cup and vice-champion of the FIM CEV, will arrive in Grands Prix next year.

It makes sense, and it has always been this way, as the names of the last FIM CEV Moto3 champions indicate: Jeremy Alcoba, Raúl Fernández, Dennis Foggia, Lorenzo Dalla Porta, Nicolò Bulega, Fabio Quartararo, Álex Márquez, Álex Rins and Maverick Viñales for the past decade.

This arrival will take place within the PrüstelGP team in 2021 as part of a new German–Spanish cooperation between the German team and Fundacion 77 Andreas Perez.

The foundation in memory of the young Spanish driver Andreas Perez, will be a new partner of PrüstelGP for 2021.

Peter Acosta was born in 2004 in Murcia, Spain. After finishing second at the end of his first year in the Red Bull Rookies Cup, he is currently the leader of this championship, thanks to his four victories in four races. This young sixteen-year-old talent is also one of the main protagonists of the Moto3 FIM CEV: currently 2nd in the championship, he claimed victory in all the rounds.

Pedro Acosta's teammate will be the Swiss Jason Dupasquier, who will stay one more year at PrüstelGP. The German team and management Barry Baltus having decided to go their separate ways at the end of 2020.

Peter Acosta : " I am very happy to make my debut in the world championship with PrüstelGP in 2021. I know it is a good team and I am sure we will be able to work very well together. I would like to thank Florian, Jordi and everyone who made this possible. But now, I will concentrate entirely on the races that remain for this season, in order to prepare myself for this new adventure! »

Florian Prüstel : " We have chosen Pedro Acosta as our new PrüstelGP rider for 2021. He is currently doing very well in the Rookies Cup, he has won all four races in Austria and is also very strong in Moto3 FIM CEV. We hope that now that he knows he has a place in the world championship for next year, he can concentrate on both championships and that he can finish as a winner. That would of course be great for us! My father and I have been watching him for a long time. Last year he was already a candidate for our team, but there was the problem of his age. I think he is a very interesting rider for Moto3 and can do well with us in the next two years. The German Jason Dupasquier will stay with us in 2021 and will have Pedro as a teammate. »
“Unfortunately, we have decided to part ways with Barry Baltus. Of course, we wish him the best for his future. We will also start a collaboration with the Fundacion Andreas Perez 77, which is very important for us. We have joined forces for this German-Spanish cooperation: the goal is to take the journey together and the operational side will essentially be based in Spain. It's a good opportunity for our drivers to train together in Spain and progress together. I am very happy that we have found a common path with Albert Valera, Jordi Gatell and Pedro Acosta and his family. This project looks very interesting and I'm sure we will work very well together! »
