Red Bull KTM Ajo and Raul Fernandez will join forces next season in the Moto3 World Championship. The 19-year-old Madrid rider, having won the FIM Junior Moto3 World Championship in 2018, is one of the most promising young prospects in Spanish competition and has been selected to join the young Japanese Kaito Toba in the lightweight category in 2020.

Fernández honed his professional racing skills in training categories such as the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup and FIM CEV, achieving excellent results in both competitions. His performances earned him a first World Championship appearance at the age of 16 and, following several further appearances over the next two years, 2019 saw him undertake his first full Grand Prix season. Red Bull KTM Ajo and Fernández have previously worked together in Moto3, when Raul represented the team at the 2018 German GP as a replacement rider.

With Raul Fernández and Kaito Toba, both 19 years old, the Red Bull KTM Ajo team will have one of the most promising teams on the 3 Moto2020 World Championship grid.

Aki Ajo : “We are very happy to have Raul [Fernández] on our team for next year. We have observed him and followed his progress in motorsport since his participation in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup. Also, we have already worked with his family in the past, especially with his brother, in the FIM CEV. Anyone who has seen Raul's development knows that he is one of the most promising young talents around and he proved his talent by winning the FIM Moto3 Junior World Championship in 2018. We are ready to fight together for the first places in 2020.”

Raul Fernandez : “I am very happy to be part of the Red Bull KTM Ajo team for next season. When I was in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, I admired the team, because I think it's the dream of every boy who participated in this series. I would like to thank everyone on the team, KTM, Red Bull and, above all, Aki Ajo. I think the team and I have the same goals for 2020: we want to fight to win. I can't wait to start working and show my potential, I will do my best and give my best to achieve good results. »
