As was already the case last week in the Czech Republic, it is Raúl Fernández (KTM, Red Bull KTM Ajo) who will start from pole position at the Red Bull Ring. He seems to have taken over from Tatsuki Suzuki (Honda, SIC58 Squadra Corse), who had passed 3 during the first three Grands Prix of the Season.

Raul Fernandez (KTM, Red Bull KTM Ajo) took a liking to pole, since a week after distinguishing himself for the very first time in qualifying, the Madrilenian rider did it again this Saturday. He actually climbed to the top of the hierarchy in the very last seconds, with this lap in 1'36.277. By 11 thousandths, he passes the leader of the World Championship ranking, Albert Arenas (KTM, Aspar Team Gaviota) had to settle for second place, ahead of John McPhee (Honda, Petronas Sprinta Racing).

The second line will be composed of Jaume Masia (Honda, Leopard Racing), Celestino Vietti (KTM, Sky Racing Team VR46) and Tatsuki Suzuki (Honda, SIC58 Squadra Corse).

As the pilots took to the track under cloudy skies, the air temperature was 18°C and the ground temperature was 25°C. Rain is forecast in Spielberg from midday this Sunday. If it ever rains for the races, only Moto3 rode on a wet track this weekend, in FP2. Moto2 and MotoGP had a drying track.

The track being relatively cold this morning, the drivers set off timidly on the track. The first 2 to take to the track are Roman Fenati (Husqvarna, Sterilgarda Max Racing Team) followed by Maximilian Kofler (KTM, CIP-Green Power)

The first interesting time of the morning is to the credit of Jaume Masia (Honda, Leopard Racing) in 1'37.975, closely followed by gabriel rodrigo (Honda, Kömmerling Gresini Moto3) and Nicolò Antonelli (Honda, SIC58 Squadra Corse).

After 10 minutes on the track, Tony Arbolino (Honda, Rivacold Snipers Team) is the first driver to go below 1'37, achieving a lap in 1'36.981. Darryn Binder (KTM, CIP-Green Power) steals the show by crossing the timing line in 1'36.938 immediately afterwards.

We are witnessing a race against time between these 2 pilots, Arbolino regaining the lead in 1'36.830 8 minutes from the end of the session. A few minutes later, it was finally the British driver of the Petronas team who made everyone agree, John mcphee running in 1'36.643.

He will not be dethroned before the end of this Warm-Up session, and it is ultimately Celestino Vietti (KTM, Sky Racing Team VR46) in 1'36.483 who is the fastest this morning, ahead of Jaume Masia et John mcphee.

The first 21 riders in the Moto3 category took the checkered flag, and their times were within the same second. The race promises to be exciting!
