After his very good comeback in the USA then his first row on the starting grid for the Portuguese Grand Prix, Lorenzo Fellon seemed to be on an upward spiral capable of drawing a compliment from his Team Manager, Paolo Simoncelli.

« Sunday's starting grid saw Lorenzo Fellon line up in splendid form. After the necessary clarifications in private, Lorenzo managed to find the right lane and have an exciting Q2, missing out on pole due to a yellow flag. Damage ! Having him on the front line is certainly a great result for us. We have worked with him a lot over the years and now we see it paying off. He still needs to calm down a little in the dry but, before long, he will be able to aim for the top 10. »

Premonition or not, the fact remains that the Avignonais, after setting the 18th time in FP1, fell at 13:54 p.m. at the very end of FP2 in turn #11, for the seventh time this season. A seemingly innocuous fall, a few seconds before that ofIzan Guevara exactly in the same place, from which the young Frenchman got up without apparent injury.

Unfortunately, after a visit to the circuit's medical center, persistent pain forced the SIC58 Squadra Corse pilot to be transferred to the hospital for additional examinations.

A few hours later, Dorna Sports revealed without further details that the 17-year-old driver suffered from a dislocated right shoulder and, as a result, was declared unfit to continue the Spanish Grand Prix.

He now has two weeks to recover before his national event, the French Grand Prix at Le Mans.

Best wishes for your recovery!
