Like their Moto2 colleagues, the Moto3 riders are in action for the only three days of official testing before the first Grand Prix of the 2023 season which will take place in a week at the same Portimão circuit.

The first day at the Autodromo do Algarve started smoothly on a track that was still damp after the overnight rain, Joel Kelso (CFMoto Racing PrüstelGP) achieving the best time of the first session ahead of Daniel Holgado (Red Bull KTM Tech3).

Diogo Moreira (MT Helmets – MSI) benefited from a faster track in FP2 to win ahead of a Jaume Masia (Leopard Racing) who took his revenge in FP3, finally snatching in his very last attempt and by only 38 thousandths the best time of the day from a Roman Fenati (Rivacold Snipers Team) happy to be back in the lightweight category.

Note a battery failure for Lorenzo Fellon (CIP Green Power) and a fall for Tatsuki Suzuki (Leopard Racing).
