After the first two days of IRTA testing on the Portimão circuit, it was not obvious that Moto3 riders can have the Portuguese circuit record in their sights, the Brazilian Diogo Moreira (MT Helmets – MSI) having won on Saturday in 1'48.353 while the place reference was held by Sergio Garcia in 1'47.274 since 2021. More than a second, at this level of competition, is enormous, and yet...

And yet, from the first session on Sunday, on a track that was completely dry from the first minutes, David Muñoz (BOE Motorsports) took a leap forward in the best time of the test, registering 1'47.421 ahead Jose Antonio Rueda (Red Bull KTM Ajo) and Ricardo Rossi (SIC58 Squadra Corsica).

Finally, the last session of the day, and of the test, revealed a slower track which did not allow the best times of the tests so far to be improved, Ayumu Sasaki (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP) was the fastest there in 1'47.402.

In the end, Spain, Italy, Japan, Brazil and the United Kingdom make up the Top 10, while our only representative, Lorenzo Fellon (CIP Green Power), visibly missed these tests. He now only has four days left before the start of official hostilities on the Autodromo do Algarve to analyze this test on the KTM and find his level… and for us to learn about his difficulties which we hope will be temporary.
