After passing Q1, Celestino Vietti qualified for the first time in his career in pole position in his 19th Grand Prix in the category. He is the 10th different pole-sitter since the opening race in Qatar, which equates to the highest number of pole holders in the Moto3 season since 2016.

Drive is the first rookie to win pole in Moto3 since Joan mir was on pole at the Austrian Grand Prix in 2016 on his way to his first Grand Prix success. This is the fourth pole position for a KTM rider since the start of the year and the second consecutive top position for the Austrian manufacturer, along with Qatar and Argentina.

Marcos Ramirez qualified in second place and is the highest-placed Honda driver, matching his best qualifying performance in Germany last year.
