Ayumu Sasaki set the best time during the second free practice session of the Thailand Moto3 Grand Prix, 17th stage of the 2022 World Championship. The session started in the rain but the track quickly dried out and the riders were switched to slick tires.
The Max Racing Team rider took the lead, taking his Husqvarna to the top with a time of 1'43.503. The Japanese took precedence over his compatriot Honda Leopard Tatsuki suzuki, the fastest FP1. Good performance of Riccardo rossi, teammate of Lorenzo Fellon last, third with a Honda. The rider of Team SIC58 Squadra Corse is ahead of three KTMs, that of the rookie Daniel Holgado (Red Bull Ajo), that of James Masia (Red Bull Ajo) and that of the Turk’s Team Tech3 Deniz Oncu.
Izan Guevara closed the Top Ten with the GasGas of Team Aspar, the rookie KTM MTA, Ivan Ortolà, Dennis Foggia (Honda Leopard) and the British Scott Ogden (Honda VisionTrack). In provisional Q2 pn also finds Kaito Toba (KTM CIP), Andrea Migno (Honda Snipers), Sergio Garcia (GasGas Aspar) and Xavier Artigas (CFMoto PruestelGP).

The leader of the championship, Guevara is currently 11th and would not go to Q2. There are 5 minutes left in this session.
fellon improves and sets a time of 1.42.813s. Guevara made the effort and took the 2nd best time in 1.42.926s. Next Furusato and Munoz.

At the end of the session, farmhouse takes the best time in 1.42.369s. But Foggia answered him. in 1.42.077s. Sasaki, Nepa and Loreira complete this top 5 as the session ends
