The Sky VR46 team made its official presentation in Tavullia this week, the opportunity for its drivers to discover their 2020 version machines and to express themselves on the challenges and objectives of the coming season.

On one side of the box, there is the enthusiasm of youth with Celestine Vietti, who in just a season and a half (he replaced the injured Nicolò Bulega at the end of 2018, editor's note) has already brought four podiums and a pole position to his team. Crowned best rookie of the year in 2019, the young Celestino, 19, impressed and will therefore be one to watch very closely this season. After his sixth place in the general classification last year, he himself announced his desire to reach even higher.

“2019 marked my real debut in the World Championship. At the start of the season we set ourselves realistic but ambitious objectives”, he explained. “Thanks to the commitment and determination of the entire team we achieved them. Now we will start from there to work hard from the free practice sessions in order to be competitive in the race and to make the difference. We will try to raise the bar higher and higher. »

On the other side of the box, the Sky VR46 team decided to put their trust in the experienced again Andrea Migno, two years after his departure from the team for other horizons. The latter is preparing to ride for the seventh consecutive year in Moto3, and is still looking for consistency. Capable of getting on the podium (he won two in 2019) and even winning (he won the 2017 Mugello Grand Prix), the Italian can also finish at the back of the grid. Author of pole position at the last meeting of the season, in Valencia, he finished the year on the second step of the podium and hopes to continue his momentum in 2020.

“I’m excited about this new start”, did he declare. “The first tests and the first race are very close now and the atmosphere in the team is crazy, in the positive sense of the word. We have a lot to do between now and Qatar, but the feeling is good. I want to give the best of myself and honor this great opportunity. »
