The two official Yamaha riders in MotoAmerica, Cameron Beaubier and to a lesser extent Jake Gagne, literally flew over the MotoAmerica Superbike championship in 2020.

This consisted of 20 races, divided between doubles (Atlanta, Pittsburgh, the Ridge, New Jersey and Alabama), triples (Brickyard, Monterey) and even a quadruplet at the start of the season (Road America).

No less than 16 of them were won by a Cameron Beaubier who no longer has much to prove in the United States and will come in 2021 to confront the big names in the Moto2 category under the colors of the American Racing team.

His place in Superbike USA has just been awarded to Josh Herrin, who raced this year on a BMW from the Scheibe Racing team, with which he ultimately finished sixth in the championship.

Josh Herrin, whose name is not foreign to those who followed Johann Zarco in 2014, will therefore be the new teammate of Jake Gagne, second in the 2020 championship thanks to 11 podiums, within an official structure which will swap its name from Monster Energy Attack Performance Yamaha to that of Fresh N' Lean Attack Performance Yamaha Racing in 2021.

Making his big return to Yamaha in 2021, Josh Herrin has a history of success with both Yamaha and Attack Performance. The 15-year-old's professional career began at Yamaha where he scored 600 victories in the 2013cc class before moving up to the premier class and being crowned XNUMX Superbike champion in his second season.

Josh Herrin continued his championship career with the Yamaha brand in 2016, taking first place in the Superstock 1000 class. In 2018, he showed strength aboard the Yamaha R1 Attack Performance, scoring two victories in the premier class with a satellite team. With a total of eight Superbike victories so far, Herrin enters the 2021 season with the Fresh N' Lean Attack Performance Yamaha Racing team ready to challenge for more victories and another Superbike title.

Jim Roach, Head of Yamaha's racing department for Yamaha Motor US: “ Yamaha Motor Corporation USA is pleased to announce that Fresh N' Lean will be the title sponsor of the 2021 Attack Performance Yamaha Racing MotoAmerica Superbike team. With Fresh N' Lean focusing on performance through nutrition, and Attack Performance Yamaha Racing focusing on performance on the track, this partnership will prove to be very strong! »

« Jake Gagne returns for his second year and plans to continue his progression and move up a notch in the 2021 championship. He had a solid first season with the team, finishing second behind teammate Cameron Beaubier, who has since made the transition to Moto2. »

" Of returning to Yamaha for 2021, Josh Herrin is the 2013 AMA Superbike Champion and the 1000 AMA Superstock 2016 Champion. Josh brings a high level of experience to the team and has worked well with Attack Performance in the past. The Fresh N' Lean Attack Performance Yamaha Racing team intends to continue winning the championship in 2021 and can't wait to start the racing season. »

Josh Herrin : " After this difficult year in Moto2 in 2014, getting back with Yamaha was something I dreamed of. To be able to not only come back to Yamaha, but also have Richard (Richard Stanboli – Fresh N' Lean Attack Performance Yamaha Racing Team Manager) and Attack leading the team, it's incredible. Having worked with Richard in 2018, I think it was the best year I've ever had. We didn't win the championship, but as a small team we were able to win races in Superbike. I felt the most comfortable on this bike of any I have ever ridden. »

" I I am very happy to find these two partners again. I knew that combining Yamaha and Attack was going to be something really special. I'm just happy to be a part of this program. With Fresh N' Lean becoming the main sponsor of the team, this is going to be very special for me, as they have been my sponsors for three years now. Thomas Asseo, the owner of Fresh N' Lean, is very excited about this deal. It's going to be great to have him on board. He has an R1 and does a lot of track days and club races. »

" For For me, I'm just excited to bounce back and be able to win some races again. It's been a difficult year for me in 2020. I'm looking forward to getting back on a bike that I know and has proven itself in the championship. »
