In view of the next test of MotoAmerica Superbike which will take place at the Pittsburgh International Race Complex from August 19 to 21 in Pennsylvania, Danilo Petrucci took part in an endurance event organized by the WERA National Endurance Racing Series By Dunlop on the same circuit.

The current leader of MotoAmerica Superbike (by 13 points) teamed up for this with the current leader of MotoAmerica Supersport and teammate, Josh Herrin.

The two Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati NYC riders used a Ducati Panigale V2 shod with Dunlop. The bike was not equipped with a larger fuel tank with quick-fill fittings, which resulted in more and slower refueling stops than their competitors.

As a result, the two leading drivers of this event of hitherto confidential fame finished in third position, three laps behind the winners. Brad Burns, Hayden Gillim et Brandon Paasch on their Suzuki GSX-R1000R from TSR – Dunlop USA.

But no matter, the interest for the man from Terni was above all to familiarize himself with the “Pitt Race International” to defend his chances against a Jake Gagne which once again looks like a scarecrow after a somewhat chaotic start to the season...
