Lukas Tulovic achieved his first success in the Electric Motorcycle World Championship, ahead of Eric Granado and Dominique Aegerter.

The Austrian Grand Prix gave rise to two firsts in MotoE, with firstly on Saturday the first pole position in the category for Fermín Aldeguer (Openbank Aspar Team), who had previously shone in FP3, already obtaining the best time. The Spanish driver was the fastest during the qualifying session, snatching pole position by only 47 thousandths ahead of his closest rival, Lukas Tulovic (Tech3 E-Racing).

But the latter responded perfectly the next day, when it mattered most, that is to say in the race. The German driver did not go into detail by taking the holeshot at the start, then widening the gap on his opponents until the checkered flag without being caught.

Great comeback from Granado, who is relaunching in the championship

He thus obtained his first victory in the category, at the end of a race which was shortened, going from a length of seven to five laps, due to wet track conditions. Behind him, we find Eric Granado (One Energy Racing), the man who was the fastest at the end of the first day of driving on Friday. Starting 13th, he was able to move up the peloton quickly to finish in second place, ahead of Dominique Aegerter (Dynavolt Intact GP).

At the foot of the podium we find Aldeguer, who finished ahead of Hikari Okubo ((Avant Ajo MotoE) and the championship leader, Alessandro Zaccone (Octo Pramac MotoE). The latter saw his lead in the general classification reduced to just seven points over Granado (80 against 73 points), while a real leading quartet now seems to emerge, the defending champion Jordi Torres (Pons Racing 40) totaling 72 units and Aegerter 69. The winner of the day, Tulovic, is in fifth place with 59 points.
