The photos speak for themselves and, this morning in Jerez, there is nothing left of the motorcycles, chargers, and all the equipment that made up the MotoE electric motorcycle championship!

We immediately think of possible human losses, which would be much more serious, but according to our initial information, fortunately there are none, nor even any injuries.

A look back at how the events unfolded.

As a result, the 2nd session which should have taken place at 16:35 p.m. was postponed to 18 p.m.

In the evening, the teams stayed in the giant tent which serves as a box until 23:30 p.m. to finalize the loading of the 23 motorcycles (18 for the pilots + 5 for Energica) at a slower speed.

A little later (after midnight but we don't have the exact time yet), the entire structure was destroyed by flames during a gigantic fire...

We do not yet know whether the fire started as a technical incident (probable) or a malicious act (always possible) and a police investigation will probably take place, but, in any case, we can think that the championship is already compromised, the Italian company Energica which supplied the MotoE not having the capacity to produce others in time.

We can think what we want about electric motorcycles, but it's a huge loss for all the men who have spared no effort for a year to make this championship exist!

However, we dare not imagine if this had happened during the first race weekend planned for the Spanish Grand Prix, with the paddock filled and the public present...
