The Brazilian driver remains on the same standards as last year on the Andalusian track, with a pole position obtained almost a quarter of a second ahead of his closest pursuer, Lukas Tulovic.

We are entitled to wonder who will be able to overcome the hegemony ofEric Granado this weekend in Spain. Already the author of pole position last year, the WithU Motorsport team driver did it again this Saturday with once again the best time at the end of qualifying, in 1'47.778.

A result that crowns a perfect first part of the weekend, since the South American finished all the free practice sessions in first place. It is therefore logical to see him again at such a celebration, even if he almost lost everything in the last turn with a little too much braking which caused him to miss the rope. Without that, there is no doubt that the bill would have been much higher for his opponents.

The Brazilian is therefore ahead Lukas Tulovic (Tech3 E-Racing), who had already shown his muscles a little earlier during FP3 by placing third. The German therefore confirms his good performances and will have a good card to play tomorrow in the race.

Perolari relaunches

His teammate, the French Corentin Perolari, victim of a heavy fall yesterday fortunately without consequences, must for his part be content with 13th place on the grid to its first in the category. An encouraging result after his scare the day before, which shows that the former Supersport driver has solid mental resources which will be very useful to him tomorrow.

Behind Granado and Tulovic, it is Fermin Aldeguer who took third place after an efficient flying lap, which allowed him to gain the upper hand over Dominique Aegerter et Alessandro Zaccone. What about the title holder, Jordi Torres ? He was rather discreet and will start tomorrow from sixth place on the grid. The Spaniard could undoubtedly have done better on his home turf, if he had not been frightened when reaccelerating at the exit of turn 6, remaining in the saddle at the last minute despite the kicks of his mount.

Then follow Mattia Casadei et Xavier Cardelus in seventh and eighth place, ahead of Maria Herrera et Miquel Pons in the top 10. Hikari Okubo obtains 11th position, while you have to go down to 14th to find any trace of the former MotoGP rider Yonny Hernandez.

Finally, we will note that Matteo Ferrari saw his flying lap invalidated due to exceeding the track limits at the exit of turn 4. Infuriating for the Italian, who had at that time set the best time by only four thousandths. He will try to make up for it in the race tomorrow, the start of which, initially scheduled for 10:05 a.m., has been postponed to 15:30 p.m.
