During final MotoE tests in Valencia, Eric Granado (Avintia Esponsorama) and the Spaniard Héctor Garzó (Tech3 E-Racing) particularly distinguished themselves, the first cited by winning a race simulation in front of the second, and the latter winning the first E-Pole in front of the Brazilian.

We are therefore waiting to see what they will do at the first “real” race which will take place next weekend at the Sachsenring and, to keep us waiting, the French team ofHervé Poncharal collected the responses of the one who will share the box with Kenny Foray.

Can you describe your first impressions of the first MotoE race?

On an electric motorcycle, what do you think is the biggest difference compared to other motorcycles?

“For me, the most important thing in racing is that the bike doesn't make any noise and it's really difficult to hear the other riders. We have to wait for an overtake and rely on the dashboard because during the whole race I wasn't sure if they were directly behind me or further away. I think that's the biggest difference. The rest is normal. You can brake, accelerate easily, so everything is fine.”

How would you describe the performance of the tires?

“Overall they are very good, but for the race I think Michelin needs to find a new allocation, because we need a little more grip for the last lap and a half. But for the rest, it’s absolutely positive.”

What surprises you most about Energica machines?

" Departure ! You must accelerate 100% directly. It’s really good, you leave very quickly, and I didn’t expect it to be like this.”

What do you think of the competitiveness of the field in general?

“I think we all know it's only a six-race championship and we need to put in some good results. If this is not possible, it is very important to score points, because if you go home with zero in this championship it will be difficult to recover. Of course, there will be faster riders on one circuit than on others, which is the good thing about MotoE, because all the bikes are the same and we can show our skills on all the tracks.”

What do you expect from the first round in Germany and the championship in general?

“The first feeling is good, because we had three long days of testing, even if we didn't do too many laps. But for this bike we have a lot of information and I am very confident and happy, because I know how to ride it and how to attack. I know the limits of the bike, I know how to go fast and manage the situation at all times. In my opinion, it’s positive to start happy and strong and I think we will get there.”
