The ex-Moto2 rider will start at the top of the FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup grid, ahead of Matteo Ferrari and Lukas Tulovic.

Dominique Aegerter (Dynavolt Intact GP) converted his form from free practice into his first E-Pole during the second round of the Enel FIM MotoE™ World Cup. The Swiss rider returned to this privileged position for the first time since he took pole position at the Moto2™ German Grand Prix in 2014. He thus beat the second fastest, Matteo Ferrari (Trentino Gresini MotoE) by 0,267 seconds. A second rookie appears on the first row in the person of Lukas Tulovic (Tech3 E-Racing) who achieved a time of 1'48.525 and dominated the last sector to place himself in third position.

Track temperatures reached over 60 degrees for MotoE™ riders on Saturday afternoon, as Cup standings leader, Eric Granado (Avintia Esponsorama Racing), coveted his second pole in seven days. But the Brazilian made a mistake in turn six which cost him not only pole position but also the front row. He will start from fourth place on Sunday.

Even less lucky, Tommaso Marcon (Tech3 E-Racing) received a black flag for leaving the pit lane too late, following a technical problem on his bike. It will share the grid background with Maria Herrera (Openbank Aspar Team) which had its time canceled for having exceeded the limits of the track.

The race will take place at 10:05 a.m.

Dominique Aegerter : “For me, I am very happy to start as pole sitter. We did a great job and we worked really hard this week. We checked the data from last weekend, the team worked very hard to improve, as did me to get more used to the bike! They did a good job, it was very hot in the E-paddock! And as a driver on the track, it's also very hot. E-pole is very special, you can't take too many risks and you also have to pay attention to the limits of the track, so you have to push and we did a perfect lap. It will be a good opportunity for me tomorrow to get a better start than last weekend. I can not wait to be there. »

Matteo Ferrari :“I'm ready for tomorrow because we did a great job leading up to the race, especially in FP2 yesterday. Instead, this morning we made a mistake in the settings and it was a difficult day. It was very important to reach the first line and we did it, also taking into account a mistake in the last sector. We are fast and we have good pace, but now we have to prove it in the race. »

Lukas Tulovic : “I am really, really happy with this unexpected qualification. We had some difficulties during free practice. We tried something on the settings, but it wasn't the right way, so we went back to last week's settings. During the E-Pole I saw the data, I compared a little and I thought about pushing more on the braking, which I tried. Once or twice, I started a little wide, which is why I missed the first sector a little, but then I attacked a lot and the time was ultimately very good! I'm really happy with this. Tomorrow we will try to get a good start and stay at the front during the race in order to get a good result for the whole team. »
