The coronavirus continues to monopolize the news. After the announcement of the postponement of the Austin Grand Prix, it is now MotoE which is in turn affected. While the first test of the season is currently taking place in Jerez, one team is missing.

In fact, the SIC58 team and its pilot Mattia Casadei did not take the plane to get there. Although other Italians are part of the field, the whole team is particularly affected by the restrictions taken by the government in view of their place of residence, and Paolo Simoncelli had to decide on the course of action to be taken after the start. in quarantine, first from northern Italy, then from the entire country this Monday.

“The riders and mechanics of the MotoE SIC58 team living in the red zone, Paolo decided, in view of the decree published by the State, not to put their health and that of others at risk, also following the example of our technical partners », communicated the team via its social networks. “We would like to clarify that this is not an economic issue since the flights and hotel were already booked. »

The team manager therefore prioritizes health over results, and thus sees his team falling behind the others, who rode today and will continue for two days.
