This morning, the day started with the family photo of all the MotoE riders gathered at the Jerez circuit.

Despite a beautiful blue sky but slightly cool temperatures, it only took 6 laps for Mike Di Meglio (EG 0.0 Marc VDS) to undermine the unofficial record that Bradley Smith (One Energy Racing) had registered at the end of MotoE testing last November.

2 tenths behind him was Randy de Puniet (LCR Team) then Alex de Angelis (Alma Pramac Racing) et Bradley Smith (One Energy Racing) grouped at 4 tenths leader of the session.

For comparison, if the lap times are around 5 seconds slower than those of Moto3, we see that the top speed (218 km/h) is already around 5 km/h higher than the latter. The time lost is therefore in the turns, obviously because of the 260 kilos of the MotoE…

In the afternoon, during a session delayed due to battery problems which could not be charged to 100%, and with temperatures a little higher but ultimately less than expected (21°), the 18 drivers (see the list here) were taking advantage of the best track conditions to drop below the 1'50 mark from their 2nd lap.

Like this morning, Mike Di Meglio (EG 0.0 Marc VDS) led the proceedings in 1'49.529 before returning to his box and relinquishing the leadership to the Brazilian Eric Granado (Avintia Esponsorama Racing) who then crossed the 1'49 mark during his 4th lap, in 1'48.984, ahead of Niki Tuuli (MotoE Ajo Motorsport) and Héctor Garzo (Tech3 E-Racing).

The red flags were then briefly waved due to a fall inAlex de Angelis (Alma Pramac Racing) and, at the restart, no change was noted at the top of the standings.

Two other sessions are scheduled for Thursday and Friday, again from 10:35 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. and from 18:00 p.m. to 18:30 p.m.
