Enel , an integral part of fully electric racing.

Michele Cecchini, head of the Motorsport division of Enel X Way, discusses the evolution and particularities of the charging stations used during a race weekend: “Obviously with MotoE our technology has also developed to improve its own performance. The improvement in charging stations was a result of motorcycle needs and racing-related operating conditions. We started with a solution called Juice Pump, which had a charging capacity of up to 50 kilowatts being optimized for integration with the machine.”

“Subsequently, we started to think, with Dorna and Energica – sole supplier of electric motorcycles until the end of this season – to a new solution closer to their needs”, continues Michele Cecchini. “This is why we introduced a Juice Roll, that is to say a combined energy storage and fast charging system, which was joined by a second unit called MU, Mobile Unit, capable of following the motorcycle on the starting grid or in the pit lane and allowing a quick last minute recharge before the sessions”.

An update, the one concerning the news regarding recharging, which allows you to ride on a greater number of circuits: “With the insertion of the battery pack integrated into the charging infrastructure we have addressed the notion of decoupling, making us more independent of the energy availability of the structures. This is very important because there is not always in the different places a sufficient amount of energy to power all the machines, but in this way it is possible to race more or less on all the circuits of the MotoGP Championship” .

Speaking of new circuits, this weekend MotoE will race for the first time at Mugello, where the Energica Ego Corsa will compete in two rounds that promise to be very competitive.
