You will have to do without. Ducati was the precursor of wings in MotoGP and the 2017 regulations will cut the wings of this inventiveness by prohibiting any aerodynamic appendage on the machines. The last generation of Desmosedici was born with these fins. How will they behave without them? The technical man Gigi Dall'Igna wants to be reassuring.

When the prohibition decision fell, Gigi Dall'Igna had it bad. For him and the entire Ducati staff, the Honda plot had just worked in full force. The other manufacturers said nothing on a subject which, however, had raised awareness about Aprilia, which shared the regret of its compatriot.

And now ? You have to move forward. The same Dall'Igna precise : " there is always something to do on a bike that hasn't won the title. We must continue our efforts until we have achieved this goal.” That's the principle. And the method? “Next year we will lose something from an aerodynamic point of view with the ban on fins, but that doesn't worry me that much ».

He pursues : " Yamaha will also lose a lot and Honda too because they have been using big wings in recent races. The loss will perhaps impact us a little more but we are already developing other ideas and not only in relation to aerodynamics. So, although we have the best engine on the board, we are working on it. It will be difficult to achieve significant progress, however. On the other hand, it will be easier to progress to resolve our weak points ". Words full of innuendo that make us impatient to discover what the GP17 will be like.
