He is not the best of the two riders equipped with Ducati GP15 this season in MotoGP. But it is nevertheless he who has assured his future in the category with a view to the next campaign, unlike the other who remains expectant. To be clear, Karel Abraham, currently seventeenth in the championship with 25 points, will once again be Álvaro Bautista's teammate in the Aspar team next year. With the same bike, the Frenchman from Avintia is fourteenth overall with thirty-eight units.

Comparison is not reason, they say, and, after all, the Czech has nothing to do with the fate of our tricolor. He scored two top 10 finishes and a second time during qualifying for the Argentine Grand Prix. So he's not there entirely by chance either. Aged 27, he has been competing in Grands Prix since 2005 and has been doing MotoGP since 2011, a category he missed in 2016 for a trip to Superbike before returning this year.

Jorge Martínez Aspar who presides over the destiny of the Pull&Bear team Aspar is both happy with his services and his contribution to the life of the team. Extending it therefore made sense: “ it is a real source of satisfaction for the Aspar team to be able to renew Karel Abraham. We hired him last year because we felt he could do a good job, but his results were a rather positive surprise. He did much more than expected, right from the pre-season. During the races, he continued to progress, achieving good results. We believe we can still grow together in the future. Somehow the choice was simple: he is happy with us, we are also happy with him. So we will continue together, to aim for even greater goals ».

A presentation that the main interested party completes as follows: “ I am very happy to have signed again with the Aspar team. Continuing the adventure with this same group was very important to me. I'm delighted and I'm already looking forward to next season. But for now I have to stay focused on the remaining races of 2017. Like I said, I'm happy but we have to stay focused ».

Next weekend, it is therefore with peace of mind that Karel Abraham will tackle the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
