Things are becoming clearer for the end of the MotoGP transfer market. With one clear certainty: at Avintia, the 2018 season promises to be a great commercial operation with the replacement of the current duo of drivers by a new paid pair. Tito Rabat is already within the walls since Misano. For the second moto, Belgium is hanging on the fate of Xavier Simeon who will perhaps be able to forget this year's Sam Lowes as the worst beginner in the history of the category. The latter will go to Moto2. And he could well find a certain Hector Barberá there.

Hector Barbera passed the threshold of thirty, he was in the 250cc peloton from 2005 to 2009 and, since then, he has been competing in the premier category. With some success until this season, since the Spaniard had the confidence of the Ducati factory last year to replace Andrea Iannone at Motegi and Phillip Island. He then discovered a GP16 which did not suit him at all, since he had crashed during these two rounds. The same bike, without fins, that we gave him in 2017. And there was no miracle.

Lacking confidence, he has only been able to score one top 10 since the start of this campaign. Grandeur and decadence, a year after wearing the official leather of Borgo Panigale, here he is convinced of a future in Moto2 in 2018: “ I'm going to go to Moto2. I stayed in MotoGP for seven years. It's hard to want to play up front with a Ducati because it's a bike that's not easy at all. Now I want to win again. And Moto2 offers more opportunities for that because everyone has the same machine and it's the rider who makes the difference ».

Barbera is in fact expected at Pons, a team which has just lost fabio quartararo who took the initiative to remain master of his destiny by signing for SpeedUp. And the teammate of Barbera some Loris Baz ? A return to Superbike would be the most likely avenue.
