The MotoGP line-up for this 2018 vintage will be of quality. A great vintage if we judge by some significant figures which show that the speed elite are indeed in the Grand Prix. Here are some convincing indications, including those which determine an age pyramid where at its peak we find a Red 39 years since last February and at its base a Kidneys 22 years and 101 days…

The 2018 MotoGP starting grid is made up of twelve World Champions who bring together no less than 32 titles and 461 victories. Sorry! Half of the 24 drivers entered have won at least one Grand Prix championship, a number which equals the 2015 record. The magic dozen is made up as follows:

Valentino Rossi (9) Marc Marquez (6) Jorge Lorenzo (5) Dani Pedrosa (3) Johann zarco (2) Alvaro Bautista (1) Maverick Vinales (1) Espargaro Pol (1) Tito Rabat (1) Andrea Dovizioso (1) Franco Morbidelli (1) et Thomas Luthi (1)

Nine riders entered have already won in MotoGP. And this clan shares 215 successes in the premier category. But 21 of the 24 in the contingent won at least one Grand Prix in one of the three categories organized. A group which brings the total number of achievements to 461.
