Wilco Zeelenberg was born on August 19, 1966 in Bleiswijk in the Netherlands. He began motorcycling sport in motocross before moving on to road racing.

Zeelenberg made his Grand Prix debut in the 80cc category in 1985. Two years later, he moved to 125cc for a single season before moving up to 250cc in 1988.
It was not until 1990 that he really performed, winning his only Grand Prix victory in Germany, before finishing 5th in the championship.

4th the following year, it was his best season and the Dutchman was forced to move to Supersport in 1997. He remained there for 4 years without really making an impact on the discipline, before returning a decade later as Team Manager. of the Yamaha team which then lines up Cal Crutchlow et Fabien Foret.

He will offer the title to Yamaha in 2009 and, from then on, will no longer leave the fold of the firm with three tuning forks which he will help in MotoGP in the role of “Rider Performance Analyst”, a function which he exercised with Jorge Lorenzo and which he still practices today with Maverick Vinales.

Today, the man has all the confidence of Yamaha and his name is circulating in the paddock to be the future team manager of the Petronas Yamaha team who will align Dani Pedrosa et Franco Morbidelli in a brand new team formed for the occasion by recovering the places of the Marc VDS MotoGP team (and undoubtedly not in an association with the Angel Nieto team).

This is just a rumor at the moment., and which has not yet reached social networks, but it seemed important to us to share with you, the announcement concerning Dani Pedrosa appearing imminent, would only be because of the presence of the Spanish pilot at the press conference which will be held at 17 p.m. To see if all this is confirmed today in the Netherlands… or not!
