You definitely never get bored with KTM. An RC16 which is evolving quickly, but only in the hands of an astonishing Pol Espargaró, a Tech3 satellite team which is making its debut this season with the Austrians, and a withdrawal from Johann Zarco even before the end of his first of two promised years of contract. This is what's called keeping the news which was also enhanced by the announcement of the arrival of Brad Binder alongside Miguel Oliveira in 2020. But it's not over. It seems that Iker Lecuona, aged 19, is in the running to ride alongside Pol Espargaró next year…

For next season, in the official team KTM, we expected the announcement of an experienced transition driver, before unearthing the rare gem for the 2021 season and the following ones. A profile that sticks perfectly to Mika Kallio, well-known test pilot from Mattighofen, since Dani Pedrosa, a requested time, is definitively allocated to the development of the motorcycle.

But it is exactly the opposite profile that the rumors are currently talking about. According to speedweek, it's the young Basque Iker Lecuona who would get the job. Aged 19, he is starting to show what he is capable of in Moto2. With ups and downs. At Motegi, his performance ended with a fall which left him with a concussion.

Furthermore, the same lecuona signed a contract to join the Ajo team in Moto2 alongside George Martin, reigning World Champion in Moto3, debutant in the category, and third in Japan. An agreement which would therefore be void with this official opportunity, all the more unexpected since the promoter Dorna made it known that he already had too many Spanish drivers on his grid, when the name ofAlex Marquez has a quick moment to complete it.

We are there, but we will also remember that KTM plays the young card to the fullest after offering the position to Remy gardner who refused it. lecuona is a big bet, who would thus be offered his chance alongside a Brad Binder with much more solid results. KTM loves to be caught off guard. The continuation in Australia, starting this weekend?
