Joan Mir is quite an act...

This title of World Champion for Joan Mir will definitely have been good for the Suzuki factory. Until then, the Hamamatsu firm alone supported its war effort with the Ecstar brand, but now Monster has arrived to boost all that with its energy drink. The drivers Joan Mir and Alex Rins were under contract with the brand whose virtues were advertised as invigorating. The extension will therefore be done on the fairing. An M that the Yamaha factory also sports…

Will the year 2021 be placed under the seal of Monster ? At a time when the competitor Red Bull has already warned that he would reduce the sail, Monster apparently doubles the bet when arriving at Suzuki. It will be recalled that the coat of arms is already at Yamaha . Unless with this announcement favorable to Suzuki, the compatriot Yamaha have something to worry about... But we'll talk about this later!

In the meantime, satisfaction is required between all parties to the contract… Rodney Sacks, President and CEO of Monster Energy Company, said: “ we are very proud to announce the partnership between Monster Energy and Team Suzuki Ecstar, starting with the 2021 season. It is the continuation of the expansion and consolidation of our continued commitment alongside MotoGP and motorcycle races around the world. Having spent the last two years supporting Alex and Joan as they raced for the team with great success, it is a very natural progression to join the team as an Official Partner. 2020 has been an exceptional year for everyone connected to the team and we look forward to continuing the incredible journey that Suzuki and its riders have already embarked on in MotoGP ».

Shinichi Sahara , Project Manager Suzuki, added: " it is a great pleasure to welcome such a brilliant sponsor as Monster Energy. They have a lot of experience in sponsoring motorcycle sport and always support big teams and young riders. We are proud to get this support for our project starting in 2021, especially after an incredible season like this. It was very important for our brand to achieve the title on the occasion of Suzuki's 100th anniversary, and I'm sure we can start a good relationship with Monster. I am convinced that this agreement can also bring great results in the future. We are very happy to feel their energy with us ».

Monster sees far and long with Suzuki

The team leader Davide Brivio concluded : " We are very pleased to announce this agreement with Monster Energy. It is a company very active in MotoGP and other motorcycle sport disciplines. We started trading before the start of the year and we are very proud to have the Monster Energy brand on our bike for years to come. Monster was already partnered with both of our pilots, so we look forward to working much more closely with them and will try to make our best contribution to their marketing efforts. I think both brands will benefit a lot from this partnership. We share a love of sports and a determined spirit with Monster, and we will try to share good times together ».

The official press release does not specify the duration of the contract, revealing only that it is a multi-year agreement and that the Monster brand will have an impact on the presence of motorcycles in 2021. Which leads to asking again the question of Yamaha in this strategy...
