Gigi Quartararo

The 2021 MotoGP season will have been a solid campaign for a Ducati factory which, however, only revealed itself late. But as soon as Bagnaia was able to achieve success in Aragon, the Borgo Panigale machine set into motion, crushing everything in its path, a domination that the hat-trick in Valencia highlighted. The manufacturers' title has been acquired, the teams' crown taken, but among the drivers it is under the reign of a Yamaha driver that the world of Grands Prix will evolve in 2022. Which obviously does not escape Gigi Dall' Igna…

Here we are in 2022 and the man of Ducati Corse has every intention of making this new vintage its own. Last year, his troops were anything but unworthy. Thus, there were only four times in the season where the Desmosedici were absent from the podium. Eleven pole positions went to the Reds and the World Championship standings, with Francis Bagnaia (P2), Jack Miller (P4) and Johann zarco (P5), the Italian brand lists three of its drivers in the top 5. With George Martin, she has the rookie of the year and what's more is in the final top 10. But there has not been the big success expected since 2007 which is the consecration among the drivers.

Gigi Dall’Igna: “avec Fabio Quartararo tu as un très bon pilote"

A lack thatAlberto Puig from home Honda likes to emphasize to put into perspective the level of Ducati. But rather than contradict him, Gigi Dall'Igna validates what remains a fact… “ They won the title, that proves them right "Says Dall'Igna when it is pointed out to him that Ducati has satisfaction with all its pilots and Honda only with one. A situation which is beginning to be as obvious among Yamaha  : " vsIt's always difficult to talk about other factories, but I think Yamaha is the main competitor at the moment. With Fabio Quartararo you have a very good driver ».

The Italian finishes on speedweek : " we did our job. We were still competitive this season and that is very important for a brand. This does not apply to the fans, me and the drivers, because only the drivers' championship matters. But being at the top as a manufacturer for years is also worth a lot ". The fact remains that in 2022, this famous drivers' title will be more than hoped for at Ducati.
