During the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix in Misano a press conference was held with representatives of the independent teams. They included Paolo Campinoti, Team Principal of Pramac Racing, Lucio Cecchinello, Team Manager of LCR Honda, Carlo Merlini, Sales and Marketing Director of Gresini Racing, Hervé Poncharal, Team Manager of Tech3 KTM Factory Racing, Razlan Razali, Team Principal of Petronas Yamaha SRT, and Paul Grandson, Team Manager of SKY VR46 Racing Team.
As with all official press conferences, this one was divided between questions from Dorna Sports host Steve Day and those from the journalists.
Hervé Poncharal first took stock of a difficult 2021 season with Iker Lecuona et Danilo Petrucci, before sharing his hopes for a year 2022 which promises to be more exciting with Remy gardner et Raul Fernandez.
The boss of the Tech3 KTM Factory Racing team then wanted to emphasize that the situation of private teams had significantly improved over the last decade, due to the equipment provided but also thanks to the support of satellite pilots by the factories concerned.

Ils devaient le faire pour avoir une grille correcte, mais vous obteniez le matériel qui était supposé partir à la casse : “vous avez payé pour ça mais vous faites votre travail et nous nous battons pour le championnat”. Maintenant, nous avons pu remporter des courses l’année dernière, Razlan (Razali) l’a fait aussi, Paolo (Campinotti) l’a fait cette année et Lucio (Cecchninello) dans le passé. Nous pourrons voir que le travail que nous avons effectué ensemble avec Dorna et IRTA en poussant la MSMA a été très productif. Actuellement, vous n’avez pas de pilotes satellites ou de pilotes d’usine : Tout le monde est au même niveau, et la plupart des pilotes satellites sont sous contrat avec les usines. Il y a marqué Factory Racing sur ma veste !
